Forecast Results
You have several things displayed in the page based on your investment options
- Forecast Chart
- Forecast Table
- Asset Mix
Forecast Chart
You have several options of how you want the forecast graphically represented, you can either choose
- Fan chart
- Pod Chart
- Bar Chart
The default will display the fan chart and you can choose a new option in the 'Display as' drop down. The chart will automatically update to your new selection.
Fan Chart
The fan chart shows how expected values of the portfolio will change over the life of the investment. The chart shows the range of possible future values with the darker areas representing the most likely outcome.
Pod Chart
The Pod chart shows the values at the end of the term where the high and low points are the expected high and low returns and the 'fatter' represents the most likely returns.
Bar Chart
The bar chart represents the end of term high, mid and low returns.
Results Table
The results provides a number of useful forecast values including
- Goal (where they don't enter a goal this field will be blank)
- High Return
- Mid Return
- Low Return
- Chance of reaching Goal (where they don't enter a goal this field will be blank)
- Chance of beating Cash Savings Account
- Chance of getting back less than the original investment
Asset Mix Pie Chart
Beneath the results table will be displayed the asset mix pie chart which will show the original portfolio asset mix.
Instrument Comparison
The forecast tool allows you to compare two portfolios in the same report. This is very useful to demonstrate the affect of changing risk levels or portfolios in relation to your client's goals and investment. When you choose to compare two portfolios, their returns will appear together on the chart.
Forecast PDF
You can save the resulting forecast page like any other chart, table or report in Analytics and also create a PDF output by clicking the PDF icon. The resulting PDF will show your investment options, current chart selection, results table and asset mixes.
