Loading Tips
A list of our popular loading tips can be found below.
Charts
- Bar Charts - Bar charts show rolling returns over a variety of time periods.
- Scatter Charts - Use scatter charts to see which funds have outperformed the sector with the same or a lower level of volatility.
- Regular Savings - Use the regular savings option in the line chart tab to show the benefits of pound cost averaging.
- Get Price - Verify the price of a fund (and other share classes of the fund) using 'Get Price on Date" at the top of your line charts.
- Line Charts - Click on 'Add Chart Period" under the cumulative line chart tab to include up to four line charts on a single page.
- Relative Charts - Relative Charts allow you to show the relative under or out performance of a fund against other instruments. Using RPI as the relative line will allow you to show inflation adjusted returns.
Tables
- Custom Tables - Create your own custom tables using the report builder under the report tab on the right hand side of the main Analytics screen.
- Customise Columns - Add multiple ranking columns by clicking on "Customise Columns" in the top left hand corner of tables and custom reports.
- Customise Columns - Remove unwanted columns from tables by clicking on customise columns in the top left hand corner of the table.
- Tables - You can highlight funds by Quartile, Quintile, Decile or Percentile using the highlight drop down at the top of tables or custom reports.
- Tables - Rank funds by sector using the ranking method "full sector" on the table and custom report tabs.
Portfolios
- Portfolios - Build portfolios of portfolios to show the client's overall asset position.
- Portfolios - Portfolios can be built using percentage weightings, unit values or cash values. Choose the one you require from the drop down at the top of the portfolio contents section in the portfolio management screen.
- Editing Portfolios - You can quickly edit a portfolio by double clicking its name in your active list.
- Portfolio Factsheets - Show the ratios for the funds within a portfolio against fund's own benchmark or sector by choosing the relevant option in the settings box at the top of the portfolio factsheet.
- Portfolios - Use the portfolio tool to create composite benchmarks. Make sure that you set the currency where you are using indices which are calculated in a composite currency.
- Portfolio Factsheets - Don't want ratios to appear in your portfolio factsheet? Remove the ratio table from the portfolio factsheets by deselecting it from the display via the settings button at the top of the factsheet
- Portfolios - You can change a portfolio benchmark to a fund, sector, cash or even a different portfolio by clicking on "Add Benchmark" from the portfolio management screen.
- Portfolios Factsheets - Change the graphics shown on the portfolio factsheets by clicking on the arrow in the top left hand corner of the charts.
- Portfolio Factsheets - Did you know that you can change the currency of your portfolio factsheet by clicking on the settings button at the top of the portfolio factsheet.
Factsheets
- Factsheets - You can produce a single 1 page PDF summary of a factsheet or a detailed full version PDF
- Factsheets - Morningstar OBSR Analyst RatingĀ and S&P Capital IQ Grading fund factsheets can be accessed by clicking on the actual rating shown on the individual fund factsheet.
General
- Custom Universes - Did you know you can create your own universes in the Institutional version of Analytics.
- Populating the active list - You can add items to your main page active list from tables and custom reports.
- Deleting items - Be careful when deleting items, there is no undo for this action.
- Index Search - Look up indices using a key word in the search box from the main screen. The % or * symbols works as wild card.
- Fund Search - Look up funds using key words, Citicodes, ISIN codes, SEDOL codes or MEXIDs in the search box from the main screen. The % or * symbols works as wild card.
- Folders - Create folders to save lists, charts, tables, reports and portfolios into directories by using the backslash (\) key in the save name.
