Filter Builder

The filter builder is available like any other instrument in the active list so you can add filter results to your active list and create charts, tables and reports quickly and easily from your filtered fund list. You can select an existing filter from the drop down and add as an instrument, click 'edit' to open the selected filter or click 'create new' to create a new filter.

You can also access the filter builder from the Custom Table drop down option by clicking the 'Filter Builder' link.

The fund filter is split into four sections:

  • Universe selection
  • Filter selection
  • Filter summary
  • Filter results

Universe

Choose the universe that you would like to apply the filter to from the drop down menu.

Note - not all filters are applicable to every universe so the filter options will change depending on what universe you have selected, e.g. Fund of Hedge Funds filter will only displayed when you are in Global Hedge universe.

Filter Summary

When you add a filter it will appear on the right hand side panel.  The total funds matching the filter will be displayed at the bottom of the panel against the total funds from the selected universe.

The default filter results will display only the main fund units.  To show all fund units untick the 'Show main units only' button.

A filter criterion can be removed at any time by clicking on the delete icon to the right of the criteria. Your Search Criteria can be saved for future use by choosing the save option from the File menu.

To view the results of your search, click on the "Show Results" button.  A new page will open with the filter results that you applied to your funds.

Filter Results

The filter results will open in a new window.

To add the results of your entire search to your active list, click on the icon at the top of the table. To add individual instruments, click on the  icon to the left of the instrument name in the list. Details of each of the items on which your filter is based will appear in the table.

Saved search criteria can be used in the running of custom reports by selecting the saved filter from the "Build Filter" tab.
