What are the difference between the different prices types?
Performance returns are calculated with or without income reinvested. The reinvested income may be gross or net of any applicable tax depending on the performance reporting standards of the particular domicile. The tax rates will vary depending on the type of dividend and the domicile.
Total Return (TR)
Total Return performance figures shows the return of an instrument with all income reinvested.
We indicate if a fund has been calculated via TR performance by appending the letter ‘TR’ at the end of the instrument name.
Gross Return (GTR)
Gross total return shows the return of an instrument with all income reinvested without any deduction of tax.
We indicate if a fund has been calculated via GTR performance by appending the letter ‘GTR’ at the end of the instrument name.
Price
Price return or capital return shows the return of an instrument with no income reinvested, i.e. price only.
We indicate if a fund has been calculated via price performance by not adding any letters at the end of the instrument name.
